Fatimah Karimi, daughter of Barat Ali, was born in 1999 in Malistan district, Ghazni province, into a middle-class Hazara family. She completed her primary education at Vali Asar Rabad High School in 2017 and was a second-year journalism student at Ebni-e-Sina University when recent developments occurred in the country. Fatimah Karimi began her human rights activities in 2018, working effectively to secure the fundamental rights of women and minorities. She is also interested in sports and occasionally plays handball.
With the Taliban's rise to power and the increasing restrictions on women's social activities, she stood alongside other women activists and civil society members, continuing her human rights efforts. In 2022, she became a member of the "Women To wards Freedom" movement, which was founded by a group of protesting and justice-seeking women. The movement, a human rights organization, aims to fight against all forms of injustice and advocates for women's, girls', and minorities' rights and equality.
Fatimah Karimi continues her social and justice-seeking activities under the Rule of Women To wards Freedom.
