In the name of freedom, equality, and human dignity
On the Nowroz and its coinciding with Eid al-Fitr—two occasions filled with hope, renewal, and human solidarity—we, the members of the “Women Movement towards Freedom” extend our congratulations to the people of Afghanistan and reaffirm our unwavering commitment to the struggle for justice, human rights, and fundamental freedoms.
While many people around the world celebrate these occasions in peace and tranquility, women and girls in Afghanistan continue to face systematic violations of their fundamental rights. Deprivation of education, employment, political participation, and presence in public life is not only a clear violation of human rights, but also a serious threat to the future of a just and sustainable society.
On this important occasion, we declare the following:
1. Affirmation of women’s fundamental rights:
The rights to education, work, freedom of movement, and social and political participation for women and girls in Afghanistan are non-negotiable and must be guaranteed unconditionally.
2. Condemnation of discrimination and repression:
We strongly condemn any policies and actions that result in the exclusion of women from society and consider them a blatant violation of human principles and universal values.
3. Call to the international community:
We call on the international community, human rights organizations, and international institutions not to remain silent regarding the situation in Afghanistan and to take concrete, effective, and sustained actions to support women’s rights.
4. Global solidarity among women:
We emphasize the importance of unity and solidarity among women worldwide and believe that the struggle for women’s freedom in Afghanistan is an inseparable part of the global struggle for justice.
5. Hope for a just future:
Despite all challenges, we believe in a future where women in Afghanistan can live in a free, equal, and human environment and play an active role in building society.
Ultimately, we consider these occasions an opportunity to renew our commitment to human values, justice, and freedom, and once again raise our voices in defense of the rights of women in Afghanistan.
