International Day of Hazara Culture
As the International Day of Hazara Culture arrives, we, the members of the Women’s Movement towards Freedom, honor this meaningful day with deep respect and unwavering belief. We reaffirm our commitment to recognizing and preserving the cultural, historical, and identity-based roots of the Hazara community.
Hazara culture is a rich and profound heritage—passed down through generations shaped by suffering, deprivation, resistance, and hope. Today, it remains alive and dynamic, not only reflected in our language, music, clothing, and traditional customs, but also embodied in the spirit of justice, resilience against oppression, and the pursuit of equality and human dignity.
As women committed to justice and resistance, we believe that Hazara culture is one that uplifts women, values wisdom, and promotes peace. It is a culture that places women not in the margins, but at the heart of its history and identity. Therefore, we see ourselves as the rightful heirs and protectors of this culture, and we stand firmly against any attempts to distort, erase, or deny it.
On this day, we extend our heartfelt respect to all the artists, writers, poets, researchers, and activists who work to safeguard Hazara culture. We also express our gratitude to every woman and man who contributes to keeping this culture alive through words, actions, voices, and images.
We declare with a clear and powerful voice that the continuation and flourishing of Hazara culture is an inseparable part of our struggle for freedom, justice, and equality. We will carry this mission forward with hope, awareness, and intergenerational solidarity.
Long live Hazara culture
Long live resistance against oppression and discrimination
With respect,
Women’s Movement towards Freedom
